Former A Place for Kids' SYEP worker, chef Christopher Cheung with sous chef son, Jeremy demonstrate the art of ice cream making to our children. Add some sprinkles and chocolate syrup...yummy in our tummies! Thanks Chris and Jeremy! Special thanks to instructor Xiao Jun Wang from Confucius Institute @Pace University for teaching our students Chinese for the past weeks! Annual holiday party hosted by Asian American Youth Center (AAYC) and sponsored by McGraw-Hill Asian Professionals for Excellence (APEX) and Con Edison. Councilwoman Margaret Chin sponsors Confucius Institute at Pace University to teach two week intensive Chinese language and culture to our children in the summer program. A big thank you to everyone! On Groundhog Day, kindergarten and 1st grade students discussed the significance of the day and the prediction of Spring. A Place for Kids' Board Chair, Minerva Chin, was awarded the Local Heroes Award by Bank of America. Ms. Chin received this award as acknowledgment for her hard work and continued dedication to strengthening the Lower Manhattan and Chinatown community. Congratulations! |
